Bio

Laura Melissa Jaramillo Rueda (Bucaramanga, Colombia) holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano. In 2017, she settled in Mexico, where she consolidated her ceramic practice and pursued studies with artists and masters such as Hilda San Vicente, Juan Ortí and Ana Gómez.

Her work has been selected for the Bienal de Cerámica Contemporánea BICMA in Marratxi, Spain (2025), and the Bienal de cerámica Utilitaria Contemporánea in Veracruz, Mexico (2023). In 2020, she completed an Artistic Residency for Creation at Mogote Cerámica, Taller de Jacobo y María Ángeles, in San Martín de Tilcajete, Mexico. These experiences led to her participation in group exhibitions, including the Bienal de cerámica Utilitaria Contemporánea at the Galeria de Arte moderno, Xalapa, and Centro Cultural Casa Principal, Veracruz (2023), as well as the exhibition Transiciones at Galería Voces de Copal, Oaxaca (2020).

She currently lives and works in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, where she offers one-on-one pottery wheel mentorship. For the past eight years, she has maintained a continuous teaching practice, initiated in Ciudad de México and now extended between Veracruz and Xalapa.
